Local Authority Flexible Eligibility was introduced to the ECO scheme to reach those people who are most vulnerable to the cost of heating their home, but aren’t eligible for funding due to not being in receipt of and eligible HHCRO Benefit. Under ECO3 energy suppliers are able to meet up to 25% of their obligation under LA Flex

There are two main categories of private tenure household that Government intends to be eligible through flexible eligibility:

a) Fuel poor households, especially those on low income and not in receipt of ECO eligible benefits
b) Low income households that are vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home

Alpha Energy have partnered with a number of Local Authorities to deliver energy efficiency schemes.

Working alongside Local Authorities to establish fuel poor residents we assist in delivering eligible ECO measures through national coverage.  Installers carry out surveys, EPCs and match residents up with either HHCRO or LA Flex funding.  By attending regular meetings to update programme of works and scheme developments Alpha Energy have become a leading supplier in the field.

What is an ECO?

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme is a government incentive that helps people lower their home heating costs through energy efficiency measures.

How does ECO funding work?

Under ECO, medium and larger energy suppliers fund the installation of energy efficiency measures in British households. … The obligated energy suppliers work with installers to introduce certain efficiency measures into domestic properties, such as loft or wall insulation, or heating measures.

Who can access ECO funding?

We will look to partner with TrustMark approved installers of insulation and/or heating measures. You must hold an active PAS accreditation and have knowledge and experience of installing your chosen measures.
